Apply for or renew your international passport — this is step zero for everything else.

A valid international passport is required for every downstream step: IELTS booking, APS, university applications, visa, and travel. In India this is issued by the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) under the Ministry of External Affairs via Passport Seva Online.
Why it's needed
Your passport is your primary identity document abroad. Universities, embassies, VFS, blocked-account providers and insurers all require it.
Who requires this
Every applicant who does not already hold a passport valid for at least 12–18 months beyond their planned arrival in Germany.
- Indian citizen (Passport Seva) — other nationalities apply through their national passport authority
- Proof of age, address and identity
- For minors: parental consent + birth certificate

- Two recent passport-size photos (per PSK spec)
